Rewind Privacy Policy
by atwill.com · Last updated November 1, 2026
What stays on your phone
These are saved only on your device and are never sent to us or anyone else:
- Movies on My List and movies you mark as Seen
- Your settings: country, streaming services, and on/off choices such as hiding Seen movies or the VHS cover look
Deleting the app deletes all of it.
Services Rewind talks to
To show movies, Rewind requests information from these services. The requests contain what you are browsing (for example a genre, a search term, a movie, or your chosen country and streaming services) but nothing that identifies you. As with any internet request, these services can see your device's IP address.
- The Movie Database (TMDB): movie details, posters, ratings, and where-to-watch data (provided by JustWatch)
- OMDb: IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic scores
If you tap a trailer, IMDb, a streaming service, or a website link, it opens in your browser or that service's app, and that service's own privacy policy applies.
Ask the Clerk
The Clerk tab is the one place Rewind uses AI, and only when you ask it something. The description you type is sent to atwill.com, which passes it to Anthropic's Claude to get a list of movie titles, and the app then looks those titles up on TMDB. The request carries your words and nothing else: no account, no device identifier, nothing about what you've browsed or saved. atwill.com never logs or stores the question or the answer, though like any web server it keeps ordinary access logs (IP address, time and URL) for security. Anthropic sees atwill.com's address, not yours. Anthropic may hold the description for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, then deletes it, and does not use it to train its models. Their privacy policy applies to that part.
What we don't do
- No accounts or sign-in
- No analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs
- No recommendations based on your behavior: every shelf is sorted by a rule shown in the app, and everyone sees the same shelves
- We never sell or share data, because we don't have any
Crash reports and TestFlight
If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple may send us anonymous crash reports. You can turn this off in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements. If you use the beta through TestFlight, Apple's TestFlight privacy terms apply to the feedback and crash data TestFlight itself collects.
Children
Rewind does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes and contact
